Austin Lakes Hospital offers two outpatient programs for adults: a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Outpatient therapy is often recommended as a step-down option after a patient has completed a long-term inpatient program. Outpatient treatment allows patients to receive treatment for their mental health condition during the day. During evenings, patients live at home and interact with friends and family members. This flexibility allows people to attend work, school and other important activities in their personal lives.
Patients in our outpatient programs come from all walks of life, looking to improve their mental health. We’ve helped senior adults looking to work on their coping skills after the loss of a loved one. We’ve worked with young adults seeking outpatient depression treatment. No matter what a person might be going through, our programs may help get you back on the road to wellness.
Our programs are designed to address a wide variety of issues, such as anxiety, mood disorders, anger issues and more. Through a mix of group therapy and other treatment modalities, our team will create an individualized treatment plan to help get you back on track. Through treatment, you learn a wide range of new skills to help you cope with life, manage your symptoms. We want our patients to walk away with the knowledge and clarity they need to lead healthier lifestyles.
Placement for our PHP and IOP programs is determined through a no-cost psychiatric assessment, and depends upon the individual needs of each client. We’ll help patients access different levels of care with Austin Lakes Hospital’s treatment programs depending on their needs. Each level of care accepts referrals directly from the community. We accept adult and older adult patients who’ve completed overnight stays or inpatient programs for mental disorders at other treatment facilities.
Offers treatment in an outpatient setting for clients who need psychiatric care and a structured therapeutic environment. Patients attend therapy groups and other activities for most of the day. Services and programming on this track are relatively comparable to inpatient treatment and allow clients to return to the comfort of their home surroundings in the evening.
Offers intensive outpatient treatment in an outpatient setting designed for patients who need intensive counseling in order to maximize coping efforts. While patients are not in therapy all day, this program is far more involved and intensive than traditional weekly outpatient therapy. This program also allows patients to return home after their sessions. Returning home after treatment allows patients to practice the skills and tools they’ve learned at home and in their communities.
